Bend *IT* {Like Beckham}

I know as a parent that it is only "natural" to be amazed and impressed by everything your child does/can do/learns to do:
"Oh honey, what a GREAT job opening the door! Woot!"
"You are the best cheerio eater in the world!!"
"You are the most amazing/beautiful/talented (etc) child in the Universe!"
You know what I mean...
But honestly, truly and deeply from the bottom of my little heart I believe that my older girl is gifted athletically. She has a poise, balance and fearlessness that must have been genetically inherited from somewhere a bit farther back on the DNA chain as her father and I are strictly musical and artsy.
Her favorite sport is kickball/soccer/football...
Well, I'm not exactly sure what her favorite sport is b/c she uses those three terms interchangeably--however, I am sure she does a wicked header
(Mommy, bounce the ball so I can hit it with my head)
Fascinating.
I also *love* the juxtaposition of her playing all sports in a dress.
Who says a girly girl can't be sport too?

Amelie Says

While waiting in the car for Daddy to bring us our ice cream we saw a man walk by with a white shirt, black tie and black pants:
Amelie: Mama, what is he wearing?
Me: A suit Amels.
Amelie: I think he's a penguin Mama!

It made me smile =)

Family Day Part 1: The Hayride

The farm we went to as a family yesterday was so fun--they had a lot to do: hay rides during which you can pick whatever is in season (corn and nectarines right now--since we had never eaten nectarines and weren't sure what they were exactly we went for corn and fyi--nectarines are related to the peach). Amelie LOVED the hayride throughout the farm--we saw lots of horses and other assorted animals--it was a perfect day for it!

They're So *Corn*y

Amelie has some pretty awesome grandparents and loves doing anything with any one of them!
Here she is with the Pop pop of the North peeling corn.
We love you P0p pop!

A Perfect 10! {Months} And She's A *Hot-Stepper*

Happy 10 Month Birthday Maevey Baby!
You are starting to eat a variety of foods and corn on the cob is your favorite!
You also took a few steps this past weekend and Amelie exclaimed, "Maeve, you are a BIG girl!"
We love you little one!

WBW08: Water Balloon Wars Of 2008!

Amelie was thrilled that Granny and Pop Pop of the North wanted to have a water balloon fight! Although, I'm pretty sure my parents got more wet than Amelie did (those two are like a couple of teenagers) they all had a good time though! Amelie's favorite part was throwing the balloon before they were tied. Thanks G and P for a fun time!
