The Princess and Her Very Big, Very Special Day

What a wonder-full whirl-wind weekend we had!
Amelie did an awesome job as flower girl and walked down the aisle perfectly!
The fact she did so well is even more amazing when you consider the fact that she had to walk the aisle ahead of me and Daddy was far away playing the piano!
If only she didn't (loudly) whine throughout the entire ceremony that she was hungry!
Ah well, it's the little annoying memories that stick with you the most...that and her beauty =)

Amelie--Blast From The Past Edition Circa August 2006: A.K.A. Baby Gangsta

Her Favorite {New} Thing

My Southern Mother In Law gifted Amelie a kid-tough digital camera and she and it have been inseperable (except for the times when I hide it, which I am not beyond doing--how many horrible pictures of me does the world really need). It's such a fun gift and soon I'll post some of her best work--I know you're on the edge of your seat but you're just going to have to wait until I figure out how the heck to work the thing. =)

Beyond A *Shadow* Of A Doubt....This is the sweetest Polka Dot Princess I know

I took these pictures of Amelie on Sunday morning--I tried to get her to smile for the camera but she was a bit too obsessed with her shadow to care that I wanted to take her picture. Therefore, I present, Amelie and her shadow.

The Great Tooth Update

I think there are more in there every time I look =)

A Shout Out to Our New York Nearly Newly-Wedded

My darling daughter Amelie should be lauded round the world for her bed-time stall tactics. One of the newest "inventions" is that she must "call" somebody before bed. Usually the person she wants to "call" is someone we might see the next day (like her sunday school teacher, granny, friend, princess jasmine, etc...) so Daddy will get his phone and call my phone and I pretend to be whoever she wants to talk with. Well, my dear brother's wedding is coming up next weekend (she is going to be the most beautiful little flower girl in the world, according to me=) and so she decided to call Uncle Matt and tell him how much she loved him and how fun the wedding was going to be. It made my heart happy since we live so far away and she doesn't get to see my brothers very often--we love you Uncle Matt and Aunt Amy and can't wait to see you both and are so honored to be a part of your special day!

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for...

*the fact that my toddler thinks I'm a "good girl"

*my single jogging stroller for morning quality time with Maeve

*the generosity of my family and my husband's family (they're my family too--i just wrote it that way for the sake of clarifying the fact that all of our parental units and extended loved ones are generous and fabulous)

* for these great big eyes:

*For Amelie's intermittent naps

*the library!

*for the fact that I've survived more than half of my southern m-i-l's visit mostly unscathed...mostly

*for my husband, who loves me even when I'm unlovable

*for three people to hug and kiss at then end (and beginning and middle) of every day

the end

Beach*Ball*Tennis (Amelie's New Favorite Sport}

Amelie had the bright idea to go outside and hit a beach ball with Mr. Wonderful's old tennis racket the other day. It actually was really fun to play, although, I think you'll see from the pictures that the main objective of the game is just being cute!

Shoe-be-do-be-do: A.K.A. A girl and her shoes cannot be parted

As a special treat, Amelie is allowed to watch movies in our bedroom.
Imagine my surprise when I walked in and saw every shoe she owned stacked on top of the bed.
I guess she just wanted to be close to them (or maybe it had something to do with the fact that she was watching Cinderella = ) ).

Beacuse I like to document the little things that no one else cares about =)

We have definitely been in "flux" this week--the girls' schedules both completely changed! Amelie is now sleeping 7 pm-8:30 am with no nap during the day and Maeve has been sleeping from 6 pm to 5 am with THREE naps! (two of which occur BEFORE noon!). It's been nice to have the night free with my husband again---because Amelie HAS been going to bed really late for a solid year--so that's a good thing! And Maeve and I have been making good use of the morning hours by taking a morning jog together so I guess I can't complain (See, I told you it would be boring before you even read this far--so if anyone but my mother and best friend have made it this far, kudos to you!).
Maeve is eating one jar of baby food a day--still not so much on the solids but she sure can pack away the cheerios!
Amelie is really into rearranging shoes lately...every time I go in to get her from her afternoon "quiet time" there is a rainbow of shoes on the floors--she's such a diva.
I really would like to add a few more babies to my collection before I start turning old and gray (any minute now) so I'm just praying that God will provide a house/apartment with three bedrooms and a bigger car--we'll see what He has in mind =)

Rude Awakening

Mistress Maeve's schedule has completely run amok this week--she's been getting up really REALLY early (4:45 am THIS morning) and taking three naps a day and going to bed early! Ahhhhh! I don't mind waking up at 5 but seeing a 4 on the clock was really sad!
This morning I had the pleasure of being woken up by a head butt to the mouth!
I guess she wasn't totally with it and was rooting around violently when she smashed my face--so all day I had a fat bloody lip slightly resembling the pout of Angelina Jolie.
Ah well, I tortured her into staying up until 6:40 tonight so HOPEFULLY she'll sleep until at least 5:30 tomorrow...
One can dream, right?

Workin' Her Groove Thang

Amelie has gotten really good at "posing" for me...

This is "the fish"

the "damsel in distress"
the "over the shoulder"
and finally, the "bow"
Dramatic flair runs deep in her veins =)
