christmas part tres (a.k.a. i forgot my stinkin' camera)

i forgot my stinkin' camera when we went to my in-law's to celebrate christmas so i'll post some pictures of amelie's early birthday celebration with my parents (she's going to be 3 in just a few short short days!!). here are some amelie gems which have made me think maybe...just maybe...we have created a christmas monster:

amelie sang in the children's christmas program tonight at church and it was pretty much the cutest thing ever! mama shed a few tears over how big her little girl has become! the 2s and 3s choir was so precious! amelie did an awesome job on stage and even got to sing with the class above her sunday school class (the 4s and 5s). she's a little super star!

the christmas concert master and the greatest feat known to man...

steven's christmas concert last night was phenomenal--he always does an awesome job--but this year was defiantly one of my top favorites. we EVEN had the extra excitement of amelie and maeve being in attendance--this was SCARY--and entertaining TWO kiddos--an infant and toddler during those quiet times between songs was the greatest feat known to man (or mama)! but the girls were well behaved and uncle ryan and aunt micayla totally saved me! yay for family!

maeve only screamed once when the cymblas clanged and she was drifting off to sleep--poor little lamb! amelie only had a couple of outbursts of "cookies, toys and candy please!" (i totally bribed her to be quiet) and at the end the students presented her with a cinderella figurine set and she said LOUDLY during prayer, "OOOOO MY BARBIE CASTLE GIRLS--OPEN IT!!" it was a lovely night--i love my husband so much--he's a hot tamale!

beauty and the beast

you know how sometimes kids are so fabulous they take your breath away and then 5 seconds later the beast within is unleashed and they are completely unrecognizable? well--that was our world this morning! my lovely little amelie was sooo excited all morning that her friends were coming over--she kept talking about it and was so happy! well, then our dear friends came and she had the worst temper tantrum i have ever seen--REALLY! it was horrible! and of course now that they are gone she is totally normal and happy--so a great big sorry to hannah and aiden--amelie loves you so much she lost her mind! please come and play with us again and we'll try to keep the beast at bay!

chillin' like a christmas villain

so it's about 4 in the morning and maeve and i are having a little party so i thought it would be the perfect time to blog...well, not perfect--but i have to find something to do since we don't have cable tv and the only thing on regular tv is news! bleh...

anywho--last night when steve FINALLY got home from judging the all south jersey music participants (88 kids playing clarinet solos...it almost makes staying home all day with two babies sound FUN (which actually, it was!) we headed out to get groceries. i love you wegmans! after groceries we decided to head to a local living nativity. we knew amelie would love seeing the live animals and hearing about Jesus--the only problem was that everyone in the county decided to head over and there were about nine million people there! yikes!

we waited for over an hour before we got to walk through the nativity and i was just praying the WHOLE time that maeve would sleep for the next 3 hours so i wouldn't have to find somewhere to breastfeed in an unfamiliar church filled with nine million unfamiliar people! luckily for me maeve slept--through groceries, the car ride, the 1 hour sit in the sanctuary and finally through the freezing cold outdoor tour of 13 scenes from the life of Jesus. yay maeve! (and i'm pretty sure that's why we're partying here at 4 a.m.--she slept TOO much!).

amelie really loved the animals and seeing the angels fly and the fact that at the end Jesus was literally hidin' in the clouds as they showed the ascension and the boy playing Jesus was hoisted up and behind a set of clouds--so now amelie really DOES think that Jesus is hidin' up there behind the clouds all the time!

me: i know honey, but you must stop asking mommy for them all the time, ok?
amelie: ok mommy.
me: thank you!

me:....

btw--my dsl is totally dead so i'm working on a lap top from the stone age on dial up! it took me 30 minutes to check my email and i'm NOT exaggerating! AHHHH!

also btw--maeve slept last night from 9 pm until 7 am and only woke up ONCE! holy crap and hallelujah!

psst....

guess who got six hours of uninterrupted sleep last night? yeah...it was totally me, steve and maeve! woo hoo! she's been doing really well at night--usually just waking up once between 10:30-6! i'm not sure i can count on this happening frequently but it's wonderful to get REAL sleep! (of course i still woke up to make sure she was breathing...ha!)

i had my six week post-baby check up today and dr. okayed me for "going to the gym." it made me laugh--although he looked confused because he didn't think he was making a joke! at this point i'm happy to just be able to stay semi-clean, dressed and be able to cook food for my family.

here is a picture of amelie as a shepherd in sunday school--they wanted to try on the costume for their christmas choir performance and amelie wouldn't take it off!

from the mouth of babes

there is a door at our church which has a sign above that reads, "Jesus Never Fails." steven often takes amelie through this door as it leads directly to his classroom at the church/school and tells her it's the "Jesus" door. the other day they were leaving church and steve asked amelie--where's Jesus (referring to the door)? and amelie answered..."Jesus is hidin' in the clouds!" and now, appropriately enough, that we're in NY and it's wintery amelie says, "Jesus is hidin' in the snow!" just thought i should share this story in case you were wondering where Jesus was...=-)

it's thanksgiving and i'll cry if i want to...

maeve cried her first real tear yesterday!

upon seeing granny and pop pop leave to get groceries amelie stood at the door and said, "where did granny and pop pop go? i think they went to target..."
this made me laugh b/c
a. there aren't many target in ny and they are all far away
b. amelie thinks that all shopping trips involve target...well...they do in the weber household anyways!

granny let amelis have a present early--she's been dressed as a barbie princess for 24 hours now--with no end in sight!

and no...i'm not sure what this means..

at 2:30 in the morning as i lay back down after feeding maeve:
steve: "do you want me to take my shower first and you can lay here and rest?"
me: "what?"
steve: "i said, i can lay here and rest while you take a shower first if you want."
me: "what?!?"
steve: "it's like 18th notes."
me: "wha?!?!?!?"
steve: "unintelligible"
me: "what?!?"
steve: "let me wrap my fingers around you"
me: "you're annoying and talking in your sleep."
steve: "that's ok."

what are you trying to do amelie? i'm trying to take your head off mama!!

so amelie was sitting on my lap at the computer the other day and we were playing some online games--i think pingu or something...anywho--she started pushing on the bottom of my chin and yanking at my head so i asked--what are you trying to do amelie? she replied matter of factly--i'm trying to take your head off mama! where did she pick THAT up? ha! so all day she's been trying to take off her own head and telling me that "it's stuck!!" and trying to take off daddy's head and my head...

it's weirdly hilarious--so i thought i'd write it all down because i don't want to forget any of these moments--it goes too fast! my little baby girl maeve is already starting to "fill out" her 0-3 month clothes...sadness! she's 4 weeks old today! it's totally been the fastest and best 4 weeks of my life! i'm so thrilled with our little family and thankful that they're mine!

what's going on?

a list of the new things amelie and maeve can do:
amelie:
* currently obsessed with barbie (i have no idea how this happened). likes to wear any dress that looks like a "princess barbie dress" and wants to have a princess barbie castle.
* loves to "pet" her sister and talk to her
* has long conversations with us (the other day daddy was tuning her out a bit and she said, "talk to me daddy!"
* declares, "oh no!" whever she doesn't get her way.

maeve:
* started to coo a bit on thursday
* slept for 5 hours straight during the night (twice, but it's a start!)
* holding her head up and looking around--she's really strong!
* maeve is very content--never cries, sleeps well, eats well--Praise the Lord!
* had her first big girl bath today since her gross belly button now looks healed, albeit, still gross
