oh no! i don't really fit very well!
ouch! i'm all wedged in here!

maybe if i put my arms up i can fit better!
i can do this myself!

i'm acting a little embarrassed! don't watch me!

what do you get a princess for christmas?

did you know that target allows you to make up a list of any kind (like for birthday or christmas presents) that can be accessed through their kiosks in store? i wish i would have known this before i emailed christmas wish lists out--i love target--they have the best ideas!
i'm totally dyin' to get started on my christmas shopping for amelie but have to wait for pay day...which is tomorrow! woo hoo! here is a sampling of what i'm thinking of getting for christmas! (her birthday is also coming up--so exciting! she's already put in a request for a barbie princess cake!).

what's going on?

a list of the new things amelie and maeve can do:
amelie:
* currently obsessed with barbie (i have no idea how this happened). likes to wear any dress that looks like a "princess barbie dress" and wants to have a princess barbie castle.
* loves to "pet" her sister and talk to her
* has long conversations with us (the other day daddy was tuning her out a bit and she said, "talk to me daddy!"
* declares, "oh no!" whever she doesn't get her way.

maeve:
* started to coo a bit on thursday
* slept for 5 hours straight during the night (twice, but it's a start!)
* holding her head up and looking around--she's really strong!
* maeve is very content--never cries, sleeps well, eats well--Praise the Lord!
* had her first big girl bath today since her gross belly button now looks healed, albeit, still gross

cupcake queen

you can tell that daddy picked out this cupcake for amelie--mama would never pick out something with frosting THAT RED! yikes! luckily she is an expert cupcake eater and the mess stayed on her tray...

it's going to be a long day! steven has dress rehearsal for his broadway show tonight...this is the longest week of the year in the weber household--we miss him!

shelly got some sleep!

it's some kind of miracle that kiddos can sense when you've been pushed to the edge of how much you can tolerate and then they surprise you by being fabulous...or in this case, by sleeping peacefully for 4 hours straight. you're the best maevey baby, now let's keep up the this trend!! even amelie got in on the action and went to bed by 9--this sounds late but is worlds better then 10:30! yay for my girls and one peaceful night!!

the brave little toaster is making a mad little monster out of me

ever heard of the brave little toaster? well, i never had until steven brought it home from blockbuster and it's driving me maddddddddddd. amelie LOVES it--like LOVES it enough to watch it 4 times a day everyday for the last 4 days and counting....whew! it's actually kind of a disturbing/scary movie for kids but somehow she finds all the little talking appliances engaging. i can't wait till this phase has passed--i'd watch boobah or caillou or anything other than this! it mostly bothers me because it's super depressing until the end when it's happy but you have to wait a long time for the happiness! anywho, just thought i'd share....

maeve and i stayed home from church today--i think we'll make an appearance next week. i'm trying to keep her germ free for as long as possible...easier said than done! here are some pictures i took this morning of my family, they're precious!

i'm a little worried about holding baby sister--but i love her (when i'm not busy trying to "poke her eyes" out)!
don't get too close to my cuteness daddy!
now i'm pretending you're not there dad!

i'd rather have a picture of my backpack!

maeve's hit a growth spurt, i've hit the "wall" and i think amelie is a vampire

last night was a longggggggggggg night. i think maeve has hit some two week growth spurt and decided mama was an all night buffet. so tired.......those days of postpartum euphoria/adrenaline have worn off so now i'm just plain tired. amelie went to bed well last night (miracle!) but woke up at 4 so since i was on maeve duty-daddy was on amelie duty (he totally hit the jack pot on that one since she SLEEPS! usually...).

the children have officially taken over every second of our lives and i'm about ready to mutiny. ha!

it's funny how much changes in such a relatively short amount of time. yesterday at the birthday party we attended i couldn't help but think back to just 3 short years ago when all of us were child-less and working and had free time and slept in on saturdays...3 years later we all have 2 kids and are tired and older...

anyways, having a family is a good thing--just a tiring thing.

two items of note:
* maeve's nasty belly button thingy fell off and left a disgusting mass underneath that scared us so we called the doctor and asked what was considered worrisome. it seems as though we shouldn't be concerned but i don't foresee bikinis in maeve's future.

* amelie has tourettes (sp?) or something. she thinks it's hilarious now to scream out "POOP!" at the top of her lungs. screaming poop doesn't mean she has pooped or will poop...she just likes saying the word...

halloween a day late (and a dollar short for that matter...)

well, yesterday was my first day on my own with my little chicks and it went pretty well--mostly due to the fact that maeve sleeps all day!

i took my little lady bug over to school to see steven and she "trick or treated" at the school and church office and a lot of people got to meet maeve--it was very nice. we even had a special surprise and were able to play with hannah and aiden (all dressed up of course!) and miss amy got to meet miss maeve!

later in the day we spent some time with granny and pop pop and even though amelie refused to wear her cute lady bug headgear she was still pretty precious!

maeve did a lot of late night partying in celebration of halloween so i am tiredddd. on the upside, i got to watch all of the shows i taped last night...it's not really much of an upside but i had to find something!

also, i'm attaching a picture of maeve that amelie took, isn't she just the little artist? ha! no plans for today, i'm tired just thinking about doing anything!

little miss cheesecake factory

amelie is a regular cheesecake factory with her silly smiles lately! it's so funny that she is finally smiling for pictures--for the longest time she was not interested in being photographed but now she loves it =-)

steven stayed home with us this morning and took amelie to choir practice this afternoon--she loves going to work with daddy and was thrilled to leave with him this morning! maeve and i are just hanging out--we watched some of the tv shows i've recently missed online and now i think it's time for a nap! yay!

the mailman brought me a present today--it's my new sling for maeve! i've figured out there's no way i'll be able to tote around baby and meet a big girl's needs so i think this will be a good solution--plus it's wicked cute. i <3 target and their free shipping!

sorry i'm not returning your calls....

we're home--big YAY! i slept about a grand total of 6 hours the entire time i was in the hospital--bleh! i'm glad we're here and can start the long process of settling in. here are some pictures of my maevey beans--isn't she lovely? i'm head over heels for her... say a little prayer for my sweet amelie girl who is wondering why mama can't pick her up and why baby swings weren't made for 30 pound toddlers... more updates to come as i become more human =-)

hermitage: day 2

so, i wasn't quite a hermit today--the webers were having a grocery crisis so amelie and i had to head out to the store and stock up! but, i will still brand myself a semi-successful hermit b/c we didn't run into any acquaintances and avoided all eye contact with strangers so i only had to talk to amelie, which, is a joy b/c she doesn't seem to notice mama's huge belly.
as i've written before, we're transitioning amelie into her big girl bed and it's going a little rough--last night she jumped out a few times and i was soooo tired that i told steve to just put her in the crib (yes, i know she can jump out of that too--it just takes longer =-). amelie was SO offended that we put her in the crib--she ran out, opened the door and yelled, "i want my big girl bed!" and proceeded to get back into her bed and not get out again. it was pretty awesome. i'm so glad she loves her bed and now we have a trick to getting her to stay in it! (hopefully the trick doesn't wear off too soon!).
not much else is new here--we're supposed to meet friends at the park tomorrow but i can't help but hope we don't make it =-) time will tell...by the way, i love fall, cool weather and sunny days! i'm also making the best dinner ever tonight, maybe it will be our last supper before the big event! mmm...ribs, home made applesauce and bread, baked beans (my favorite brand from new york, thank you wegmans!), mashed potatoes and veggies....mmmm....

the hermitage: day 1

so, my first official day as a hermit has gone well. i've felt veryyyyyyyyyyyyy tired and have slept most of the day--taking time only to make my little family lunch and of course, blog! amelie and steve were good little baptists and went to church, which made me sad, because i would love to go if i could stand talking out loud to people. you see, as a rule, i'm not really into talking out loud to people anyway, so in my present condition, talking out loud just seems like cruel and unusual punishment.
i tried to get a picture of steven and amelie together this morning since they were both lookin' so fine, but amelie wasn't in the mood, therefore, the separate picture of daddy trying to tempt her over with a smile.

amelie brought home a hilarious little piece of propaganda from sunday school today that i just couldn't help but post. apparently they were learning about how God provided for Moses and the children of Israel while in the desert and that He sent them birds to eat when they complained about the manna not being sufficient. i just think it's hilarious that now our little 2 year olds know that meat is from God so beware future vegetarians!! i have nothing against meat, and actually don't really enjoy vegetables, it just struck me as hilarious that their project had that phrase. if you don't think it's hilarious, it's probably just because you aren't a hermit!
