WHOA!

We had a major ice storm a week or so ago and on the walk to the car everyday amelie discovered that it was very slippery...everywhere. i usually ended up carrying her but on the occasion when she did walk she would inevtiably slip and flail her arms and say, "whoa!!!! whoa!!!" it was cute. anywho, the other day she was walking in the living room and all of the sudden was flailing her arms and saying WHOA! yay, she was pretending to slip which was cute and hilarious. so now she knows that i think it's funny and it always "slipping" and "whoaing" everywhere we go. she's a commedianne.
yes, this picture is totally unrelated. she was just channelling mozart for a bit.

one wild and crazy girl

amelie woke up with some extraordinarily crazy hair today so i had to document it. she fills me with joy so that at times i feel i can't possibly take any more in. now i know why my parents are so crazy...it's the love that makes you that way!

i love amelie

i love her. that's it.

the crock pot, the canned goods and the cupboard

Amelie loves to play in the cupboard--she takes everything out, lays down inside and plays some game that I haven't quite caught on to yet--a cross between peek a boo and pretend. She loves to hide inside--it's her own little quiet place!

my valentines

Amelie sure loves her papa! We took a bunch of pictures this past Sunday and Amelie was really hamming it up--of course, in nearly every picture her eyes are closed or she's looking the other way (I need to figure out the art of capturing images on a digital camera--not as easy as one might think!). I am so thankful for my two sweet hearts! What a blessing to be with them every single day!

friends!

amelie has the good fortune to be able to play with a fabulous little boy named josh while i'm off teaching art a few hours a week. God has been so good to bring good friends into our lives--His blessings are all around us! I can't believe how quickly this school year is going--more then half over with and I never thought that I would survive! Leaving her with a friend has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to do but she has so much fun and has learned so much about sharing and being independant--I can't help but think that it's a good thing even though it's been painful at times! She is such a big girl now, I can't believe she eats like an adult, potty's like one, talks like one...where did the time go?

sugar and spice and everything nice

I am so thankful for my little girl who is a joy to watch in everything.

Friends

Amelie and all her pals recently got together for a play date. It's such a blessing to have lots of kids our age to spend time with! Amelie played a lot with hannah who is a couple of months older then she is. They really love each other as you can see!
